Bass Log helps you record fishing sessions on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. No Bass Log account is required.
Fishing records and paired devices
Sessions, catches, measurements, notes, photo attachments and fishing markers are stored in the app's local storage. The paired iPhone and Apple Watch exchange fishing records and settings through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. Bass Log does not operate a cloud account or a social feed for your fishing records. Device backup and Apple system services may be governed by your Apple settings and Apple's policies.
Location, maps and weather
With your permission, Bass Log uses location to associate catches and markers with a place and to request local weather. The iPhone app requests location while in use. On Apple Watch, collection follows the active fishing session and the permission you have granted. Apple Maps, place-name lookup and Apple Weather are network services; location and relevant service requests may be processed by Apple. Weather availability depends on permission, connectivity and service availability. Water temperature is entered by you. You may change permissions in system Settings.
Health and motion on Apple Watch
With authorization, Bass Log uses HealthKit to record a fishing workout and access heart rate and active energy during the session. Watch motion sensors support optional cast detection. This information supports the fishing/workout experience; it is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Manage or revoke Health access in Apple's Health or Settings interfaces. Health records already saved to Apple Health are managed there separately from Bass Log's fishing records.
Photos
Camera and photo access are used when you choose to attach an image to a fish record. Selected image copies are kept with the app's records. Generated trip image cards can be shared or saved using system actions you select.
Sharing and exporting
You decide whether to share a generated trip image or export your records as JSON or CSV. Exact coordinate fields are excluded from data exports by default; you may explicitly include them. Other user-entered content, such as location names and notes, can still reveal places even with coordinate export disabled. The receiving app or recipient handles shared files under its own practices. The export includes record data and photo references where present, not photo binaries or a complete restorable backup. Bass Log v1.1 does not import exported files.
Support and diagnostics
If you choose to email support, the information you send, including your email address and message contents, is used to handle your request. Please avoid including sensitive fishing locations unless needed. Apple's optional crash and diagnostic reporting is controlled by your Apple settings. Bass Log does not use advertising or analytics SDKs to track you across apps and websites.
Your choices
You can edit or delete fishing records through available app controls, manage permissions in system Settings, and decide what to share. Deleting a record from Bass Log does not retract copies you already exported or sent to someone else, and does not remove a separate Apple Health workout.
